In this study "Noradrenaline release from the locus coeruleus shapes stress-induced hippocampal gene expression" we combine circuit neuroscience tools like optogenetics with transcriptomic analyses to identify a set of stress-induced genes that are activated by noradrenaline in the mouse brain.
